How many times have each of us walked past someone in the street handing out flyers and walked straight past them. Also, how many times have you taken the flyer, glanced at it briefly and then binned it at the first opportunity. Well you don't have to feel totally guilty because a lot of people do it. The fact is that flyers are a means of advertising, and if it's not advertising to you in an effective manner then it's not been done right.
The fact is sometimes a flyer will grab your attention. It doesn't even matter what it is, it just draws you in. This is all down to design. Flyers are a very quick means of advertising and as such have to be instantly effective. By this I mean they must grab the attention of the person holding them and get the point across instantly. People don't have very long attention spans so there are a few methods that you shout apply to your flyers to draw attention and make your point.
One of the prime elements in designing a flyer is colour. A colour scheme needs to be attractive and eye catching. Obviously depending on your business you might not want to go for certain colour schemes and you might already have a colour scheme for your particular business. As such you should put a bit of thought into how to set this out.
Secondly you need to instantly let them know who you are and what you do. Be concise and to the point. If you try to put too much in, people will lose interest. Remember it's not an article you're writing, it's simply a means of spreading awareness of who you are and what you do. That shouldn't take up more than a couple of short sentences on
A6 flyers. With
cheap leaflet printing you might also want to consider putting an image in. If your company has a logo, that would be ideal. If not, try adding a relevant image.
Finally, you might want to consider getting the input of a graphic designer. A lot of printing companies can give you a bit of help with this so before you submit your final version. This way you're getting the insight of someone with a lot of experience so you can get your money's worth out of your flyers.
