Nothing sets the mood like music. Imagine a party with no music; people walking into a room or hall to nothing but the sound of shuffling feet and the muttering of half heard conversations - it just doesn't work. Now imagine the same room or hall with a party band in the corner, playing as your guests walk in. Guests don't always arrive relaxed, they may have had a hectic day at work, and then had to rush to get to the party, or been stuck in traffic. But as they walk in through that door you want the music to make them forget all that, as they leave their hectic lives at the door and slow to the rhythm of the music, as it washes through their senses. Music can lift the spirits and bring smiles to faces, as it sets the pace of the party.

Whatever the occasion, you want guests to have a good time and to remember the event for all the right reasons. A good party band will be able to gauge the room, there's no point playing a rowdy sing-along as guests walk in, they need time to greet each other and get into the swing of the party. If the party includes a sit down meal, a party band will play background music to create a peaceful ambience, moving to livelier songs to encourage people onto the dance floor when the meal is finished. For a party of mixed ages the band will need to be flexible enough to play music to span the generations and keep the dance floor busy all evening. A party band will be able to play requests, whilst mixing in plenty of variety so that everyone is having a good time.

With Christmas fast approaching, festive music is dusting itself off for another party season. Music which sounds wrong all the rest of the year, sometimes for no better reason than it was a hit at Christmas time, is suddenly a must, to get everyone in the party spirit. A live party band can interact with the guests as they sing along to old favourites, and hopefully, along the way make some new memories that'll link a song forever with this special night and party.

For themed parties, specialist party bands from an appropriate genre or era can set the mood, not only by the music, but also by dressing up in clothes of the era. For themed parties guests will dress up too, adding to the atmosphere, and taking them back in their minds eye to times gone by.

When there's a party to arrange there are always so many things to organise, that delegating is a must. This is where hire agencies come in. A reputable hire agency will have party bands and cover bands for all occasions readily available, and the experience to work with you to offer a package for your individual needs and budget. With the music taken care of, the host can enjoy mingling with the guests and taking the credit for a successful party.
